We use this pool for Discover Scuba Experiences, Open Water Courses, Scuba Reviews and many other programs requiring a swimming pool.
Walnuts Leisure Centre is situated in Lych Gate Road. It is a short walk from the War Memorial, High Street and can be accessed via the Walnuts Shopping Centre or Homefield Rise.
Based in the heart of Orpington Town Centre, to the rear of the High Street, the Walnuts Leisure Centre has two swimming pools, gym, health suite, multi-purpose sports hall, squash courts, crèche, children’s party room and 'Flavours' cafe.
Train
Orpington Railway station is approximately 1.5 miles from the Walnuts.
Bus
Walnuts Leisure Centre is served by numerous bus routes including: 51 Woolwich to Orpington Station, 61 Bromley North to Chislehurst, 208 Lewisham to Orpington, R1 and R11 Bromley to St. Mary Cray, Queen Mary's Hosptial, 358 Crystal Palace to Orpington and 353 New Addington to Orpington.
Car
There are 'Pay and Display' car park spaces on Lych Gate Road and in the Walnuts Shopping Centre there is a car park but closes early on Sundays. Lych gate Road meter parking 60p/hr and free after 6.30pm. Multi storey closes at 8pm Sat and 4.30pm on Sun.
Allow an extra 15 mins by car if using the main road (Sevenoaks Way) into Orpington (from Sidcup) due to an extra out of town shopping centre (Nugent Centre) near St Mary’s railway station which always causes long delays.
Or enter from the South of Orpington from M25 J4 exit, follow A224 Court Road, left onto A232 Spur Road, Right at Memorial Roundabout onto High Street. Right again at mini roundabout into Homefield Rise, left at Orpington/Bromley College Roundabout and park up - Centre next to College.
