PSA - Mixed Gas Diver - Level 1 (Trimix Fundamentals 60m) - 5 Days

The PSA Mixed Gas Diver Course is designed for those who wish to conduct dives using helium based bottom mixes with associated advanced staged decompression techniques. This program is conducted in three phases leading to dives of up to 100m.


Minimum Entry level

PSA Extended Range Diver or equivalent Diver course with 100 logged dives with 50 deeper than 30m.

Trimix Open Water Dives

  1. The PSAI Trimix diver courses consists of three (3) levels.
  2. Where the student is coming from Extended Range Nitrox a minimum of four (4) helium based dives (with oxygen contents of 18% or greater) are required for Level 1 – Trimix Fundamentals certification to 60 meters (200 feet).
  3. Where the student is coming from Advanced Nitrox a minimum of six (6) helium based dives (with oxygen contents of 18% or greater) are required for Level 1 – Trimix Fundamentals certification to 60 meters (200 feet).
  4. An additional two (2) dives are required for Level 2 – Expedition Trimix certification to 75 meters (245 feet).
  5. Finally, a third set of two (2) dives are required for Level 3 – Explorer Trimix certification to 100 meters (330 feet).
  6. To achieve certification, one dive in each phase must be within three (3) meters (10 feet) of the desired certification level. (However, no dives are to exceed the planned target depth).
  7. Decompression gas stages must be configured with the richest mix (highest
    oxygen content) on the right side and the lowest mix on the left side.

    Minimum Entry level

    Fundamental Mixed Gas Diver Level 1 or equivalent 60m and 250 logged dives with 50 deeper than 40m
